Valerie Hollimon

Valedictorian: Valerie Hollimon, Chemistry, Biology Minor

Valerie also graduated Summa Cum Laude and is a member of the Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society.  Ms. Hollimon is a member of the American Institute of Chemists, and a LSMAP (Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) scholar.   Ms. Hollimon received the Julius S. Scott, Jr. award at graduation, and is awarded on the basis of scholarship and leadership, in honor of the 12th President of the College.  Ms. Hollimon has been accepted to Howard University school of Pharmacy where she will start in the Fall of 2019.

Secret Wagner

Secret Wagner, Chemistry, Biology Minor

Ms. Wagner is one of the only two Chemistry graduates for May 2019 commencement.  Ms. Wagner is a member of the American Institute of Chemists, and a LSMAP (Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) scholar.   Ms. Wagner received the President’s award at graduation, and is the highest award of the College, and is nominated by faculty and selected by classmates basis of scholarship and leadership.  Ms. Wagner has been accepted to Howard University school of Pharmacy where she will start in the Fall of 2019.

Mathematics, Science, and Technology Department Students

A group of students from our MST (Mathematics, Science, and Technology department) were selected to attend the day long Igniting the Dream of Medicine Conference.  The conference offers high school and college students an overview of the medical school admission process, opportunities to network and hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art simulation center, physical exam instruction, a suture clinic and more.  Seniors who will be applying to medical school in the near future, had an experience to do a mock interview.  Some students were selected to present their research that they have conducted.
