Mr. John Barfield, BBA CRA serves as the Director of Engagement and Visibility in the Division of Research and Institutional Advancement at Tennessee State University (TSU). A Certified Research Administrator (CRA) with over 26 years in Higher Education, he is a grants management trainer, transdisciplinary and multi-university proposal team builder, works collaboratively with government, university and private sector partners to further research initiatives of TSU and the broader community. Mr. Barfield is a strategic and innovative research administration and development professional, an experienced grant writer, a faculty development instructor and planner and co-chair of the Annual University-Wide Research Symposium.
He also has been the Co-Investigator on the Minority University Research and Education Project Aerospace Academy (MUREP AA), a NASA-funded program that teaches science, engineering, math and aerospace concepts through hands-on projects to more than 1,000 students per year.
